Hi, I’m Laura Duncan-Wade, Founder and Principal Therapist

 

Touchstone Therapy Centre is a calm, safe space for you to focus on your mental health and emotional wellbeing – a space where you can express yourself freely and feel understood.

I created it for people who want to overcome challenges, heal from trauma and regain control of their lives. It’s somewhere you can seek support, gain knowledge and develop emotional resilience, navigating your unique healing journey on your own terms.

With over 16 years of experience in the field of mental health, I offer a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Person Centred Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I’m also interested in the development of third wave therapies, particularly Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My unique blend of skills allows me to tailor your course of therapy to meet your specific needs, helping you achieve your therapeutic goals so you can heal and thrive.

I understand everyone is unique, so I work collaboratively with my clients, helping you identify and achieve your therapeutic goals so you can move forward with your life.

I strongly believe we must never stop learning. As well as continuously enhancing my own skill set, I’m passionate about supporting my colleagues with their professional development. Seeking new ways to improve my therapeutic skills has always been a source of excitement and satisfaction for me. Passing this knowledge on to others is even more rewarding.

I have extensive experience in the provision of clinical supervision for both trainee and qualified therapists. As a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at The University of Chester, I’m also well versed in the requirements of students undertaking higher education courses in CBT.
